JoAnn was a Scenic Lead with Universal Studios during construction of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Hollywood, which opened in April 2016. Her role involved serving as liaison between the Art Directors for both Universal Studios and Warner Brothers, and leading a construction crew. The focus was on accurately creating the snow that blankets the village of Hogsmeade. Subsequently, she was awarded an independent subcontract to sculpt the snow cap formations for the bow windows throughout, in preparation for fiberglassing. She fabricated these in her studio, then based in Westlake Village, California.
