Creator. Builder. Visionary.
A highly versatile creative, JoAnn Dutton's work bridges the worlds of large-scale fabrication, environmental design/build, and mixed-media sculptural fine art. International travel and studies at the Inchbald School of Garden Design in London were early inspirations to her multifaceted career path. With a background that spans decades of immersive habitat creation for zoological parks, museums, and public institutions, as well as the design and construction of refined outdoor living spaces for commercial and residential properties, she brings an uncommon mastery of materials, scale, and inner exploration to her current work in frequency-based art. She is currently based in the Los Angeles area.
JoAnn’s professional foundation began at the Larson Company in Tucson, Arizona, designers and builders of fantasy and themed environments across the globe. She went on to establish her own smaller company, producing installations for institutions across the country. She is a licensed general contractor in the state of California. In more recent years, her work has included designing outdoor environments for residential and commercial properties, with an emphasis on creating visually cohesive, functional, and inviting spaces. JoAnn values the creative connection that develops through collaboration with clients, often drawing on intuitive alignment to help bring their projects to life
Creativity has been at the core of a life fully lived, not only in art, but in how she has navigated its currents through work, motherhood, change, challenge, reinvention, and connection. Moving forward, JoAnn’s focus is on inspiring others to step into their own creative expression, bringing people together in multiple ways, including public art projects, community-centered experiences, and working with children to remained tuned to their innate gifts. She is drawn to regenerative ways of thinking and creating, to projects rooted in care for people, places, and the future.
