A highly versatile creative, JoAnn Dutton's work bridges the worlds of large-scale fabrication, environmental design/build, and mixed-media fine art. International travel and studies at the Inchbald School of Garden Design in London were early inspirations to her multifaceted career path. With a background that spans decades of immersive habitat creation for zoological parks, museums, and public institutions, she brings an uncommon mastery of materials, scale, and inner exploration to all of her creative endeavors. She is currently based in the Los Angeles area.
JOANN
JoAnn's professional foundation began at the Larson Company in Tucson, Arizona, designers and builders of fantasy and themed environments across the globe. She went on to establish her own smaller company, producing installations for institutions across the country. As a licensed general contractor in the state of California, in more recent years, her work has included designing outdoor environments for residential and commercial properties, with an emphasis on originating visually cohesive, functional, and inviting spaces. JoAnn values the collaborative connection she fosters with clients, often drawing on intuitive alignment to help bring their projects to life.
Creativity has been at the core of a life fully lived, not only in art, but in how she has navigated its currents through her work, motherhood, change, challenge, reinvention, and connection. Moving forward, JoAnn’s focus is on inspiring others to step into the wholeness of their own unique expression, bringing people together in multiple ways, including public art projects, community-centered experiences, and working with children to remain tuned to their innate gifts. She is drawn to regenerative ways of thinking and innovating, to projects rooted in care for people, the planet and the remembrance of humanity’s true magnificence.
